Dan-O the Man-O here!
(ok yeah so I use my real name here .... I blew that cover on my first blog I think ....... besides admit it, you've already done the proper stalker thing and hunted down all my info off the webbernet .... and now this way I like to think of this as a cool prize for anyone who reads this blog! YAY! ............ ok fine ..... I'm a cheapass and yes that is a very lame prize, but really its the though that counts, and I thought about that one a whole lot...... like 5 whole seconds)
Anywhoo, enough of this internal monologue shennanigins, on with the bloggery!
Soooooo ..... I've been having a rip roaring good time this last month! November for us Farmer folks is an ecspecially busy time, we;ve got cows to bring home from pasture, crops to reap, and cattle to show!
This is our busiest time of the year, but its also probably the most fun! It really takes the motto "work hard, play hard" to heart. its 3 weeks of hard work all day and drunken mis-adventures all night.
The first one we went to is here in my home town Edmonton at Farmfair (yes we cattle folk are full of creative names) It was a barrel full of awesome! here's some pics

And then we had a small break in between, and then it was off to Regina for Agribition! I like to title this years Agribition experience "9 drunken nights and a funeral"
Here's some pic's
Here's of pic of the grand daddy of all the classes at the show the Supreme Quest. Which is all the champions across Canada competing for number one. In the regular show, the judge was kinda a douche and placed his friends animals all first in every class. So we didn't win a thing, yay! haha! ( and yes there's politics in cattle shows too haha! go figure) Anywhoo our big goal was our champion cow that qualified for the Supreme Quest. She was the favorite to win this year, so we had hopes of bringing home the $10 000 grand prize. Sadly the day of the show she was feeling sick, and by the time the show rolled around, she was ridiculously sick and ended up having to rush to the vet ..... anywhoo long story short the poor girl died
But after all that happened we still had a rocking good time! It was actually the most fun I've had there in the last 8 years
I absolutely love the farmer spirit! The day of the show we got up at 3 am then spent the next 3 hours washing the cows and clipping their hair and making sure they had every luxury we could get them. I spent more time making the cows look pruddy then I did myself! haha! And then right up until 5 pm we had to show the cows, which means you're on your feet non-stop and no time to eat. And from there its straight into drinking and drunken debauchery!!!
We stayed at the barns till 12 and then moved it to the bar till 3 and then moved on to our hotel till 5!!! We were up for 26 hours and then slept for 2 and straight back too it for another day of the same! That how it goes for 9 days straight! Man I love these people!
Alrighty I think thats enough for today, its been a slice as always peeps!
Until next time!
