there's nothing like watching four girls walk from your job today. right before surgery.
today blowed buttholes. i need some cheering up.
this great client today, mrs vanarsdell, who always comes in and brings us all hot chocolate and cookies every sunday, brought in her kitty stripe to be put to sleep. the thing is, mrs v has the coolest animals... some of her pets include : "garden variety"(a big fat torti), "princessprissy chickyfoot"( a danty greyhound), "peter tripod" (three legged terrier".. and "stripe", her 18 yr old tabby who she had rescued from the freeway when he was a little kitten. but anyway, she is a wonderful woman and she came in, in tears... and we all knew what was going on. it was time.. he was old and couldnt walk anymore.
when we euthanize at our work, it's normally, the client, the pet, the vet.. and a technician who witnesses. but for mrs v... it was her, stripe, dr b... all 12 technicians, 4 receptionists, and 5 kennel workers. we all stood there as stripe took his journey into kitty heaven and we all cried with mrs v.. (Im normally pretty good at witness affects... but this was different).. as dr b euthed him, he even cried... dr costa walked by, and cried... dr h came in, hugged mrs v and cried with her... she looked at all of us and said "when he gets over to heaven, he will look down on us and whenever the thunder rolls, it'll be him purring". holy dang... how sad.
i sat there for the rest of the day and thought about that moment. this woman, and her beautiful cat, had such an amazing impact on our entire clinic that she made us all cry with her. i came home and kissed every one of my pets (which is alot of pets)... and i felt like something was missing... i'm still trying to figure out what that is..
but anyway... i thought i would share that, it was a really sad day, but it was so magical at the same time... amazing people can make amazing impacts on others.
but when the girls quit before surgery, the attitude of somberness went to complete mayhem and frustration.
blah! eat poop you monkeytards! *stomps around*

And I'm sorry about Mrs. V's kitty cat, what a wonderful woman. I work in a no-kill shelter so thankfully, we don't get a lot of tears (though they are there).
Thanks again!
Have a good one for me sweetie
