in the past two weeks, i have been witness to three seperate major car accidents. i'm not talking about seeing the scene immediately after, i'm talking about actually physically seeing them happen. it's starting to really creep me out. before two weeks ago, i had never seen a car accident in my life. i get the feeling someone is trying to tell me something?
anyway, the first one was a guy making a stupid left turn into oncoming traffic, the second was some guy changing lanes without looking on the beltway, but last night was definitely the most bizzare.
i was driving home from baltimore at about 1:00 am on 495, and there's a car all the way in the left lane and a van riding right next to it on the right. i'm driving maybe 50 yards behind in the right lane. suddenly i see the car jerk as if reacting to something and coming inches away from plowing into the jersey wall on the left side of the road. i was talking to garrett on the phone and i distinctly remember telling him, "oh man, i almost just saw a big accident".. and as soon as i finished saying it, the car in the left lane puts on his right turn signal and just plows right into the van. as if he didn't even know it was there.
the car got pushed up in front of the van, and spun around to the right side of the van and over to the right lanes of the road.. almost doing a complete 180.. finally coming to a complete stop in my lane. i stop and get ready to pull over because this time i am pretty much the only witness and if there are any injuries, i've gotta make sure to pull over and help out. so as i'm getting ready to stop, i'm all of a sudden realizing.. the van is gone. it kept driving.. hit and run style. and as i'm slowly realizing this, i notice the stopped car start correcting itself and it starts to drive too. i thought it was just driving to the side of the road, but no, it kept right on going. so basically i see two cars completely plow into eachother with what has to be pretty extensive damage to both cars... and both just drive off.
fucking creepy.
i don't want to see any more car accidents.
