Just worked another incredibly boring five hour shift. Six people came in at ten minutes to 9. We close at 9, and there hadn't been anyone in the store for about half an hour. Then six people show up. They all left a few minutes before we were supposed to close, but we still had to put away the new cds and movies, which we couldn't do earlier because they're not techincally out until tomorrow. arg.
When I first started working there, the manager told me I'd have about 20-25 hours a week. I have yet to work more than 20 hours, and I usually do about 15. One guy just got fired, and instead of distributing his hours among the current employees, they hired someone else. I am not saving any money. I thought I'd made it clear to the manager that, unlike most of her other employees, I am not in school, and anything in my life not related to my job can be worked around the hours she gives me. But she still doesn't give me more hours. So I'm thinking of applying at Brooks. I'd keep the movie store job, so total I'd have somewhere around 40 hours a week. Hopefully. But Brooks might just want full time people. I could always work at the grocery store, but I really don't want to do that. Almost as bad as waiting tables.
On another note: finished The Mouse That Roared, started Rosemary's Baby. Both books that were made into movies, both of which I've seen.
