Finished reading Cryptonomicon. Loved the ending. Now I'm reading The Mouse That Roared. Nice short, easy read after the 900 or so pages of Crypto.
Bought a DVD player today. I keep telling myself I'm not going to spend any more money, and then I go right out and spend. It was only $48, tho. Pretty damn cheap for a DVD player with a one year warranty. Never heard of the brand, but a guy I work with said he's had one since December and it's still working fine. I just got tired of hooking my laptop up to my TV, and Radio Shack was having a sale on the thing, so I thought what the hell.
As for money, I probably won't end up moving for a while. Going to Ann Arbor on Oct. 15, then I'll decide it I want to move there. Everything hangs on that. I've heard that there are a plethora of chemistry jobs in the UK. So if I hate Ann Arbor, then I can look into getting a job in England or Scotland. Have no idea how that works. But I love Scotland. I don't know how easy it is to get a visa, though. Maybe I should wait to decide where I'm going to move until after the election. If Bush gets re-elected I might have to flee the country anyway. He might reinstate the draft, and include women. The army is having trouble with recruitment. I don't really have anything against the military (several years ago I was seriously considering joining the air force), but I don't want to fight in Bush's wars.
So I won't worry about where I'm going to move to, and what kind of job I'll be able to get, until after the election. Uh huh.
What else do I have to do besides worry, anyway? It's not like my fucking job keeps me mentally stimulated. I only worked four hours today, and it seemed like ten. I was so fucking bored. I haven't volunteered at the library for a while, mainly because I'm still sick and I haven't felt like it. Working again tomorrow, and Tuesday I'm painting my mom's room, so maybe Wednesday I'll go to the library. Unless my mom and I go to the Vermont Country Store. She said she wanted to. Yay for spending money
On a better note: Sky Captain is coming out Friday! And so is Wimbledon, which looks kind of stupid, but it has that really cute British guy in it, whose name I can't remember. Not a big fan of Kirsten Dunst, though. I'd like to see Resident Evil 2, but zombies scare the shit out of me and I don't have anyone to go with. Mila Jovovich is incredibly hot, though.
