I have my computer back, so I'm feeling better. I decided to keep using it until it the hard drive breaks completley, which could happen at any moment or could happen in three months, according to the computer dude. I'll focus on the three months. I'm going to start looking into tutoring, so hopefully I'll have some money by then. There are three high schools in the area, and one state college. I'm sure there are some students, somewhere, who need a little extra help getting through chemistry, physics, math or all three.
The only other job open to me at this very moment is at the grocery store. Now, there isn't anything wrong with working at a grocery store - it can't be any worse than waiting tables, which I absolutely despise. However. After spending four years in college and getting a bachelor of science degree in chemistry with a minor in physics, I think I'm just a wee bit over-qualified to work in a grocery store. I could use the money, but it would be incredibly depressing, and my mom would have a fit. I mentioned the idea of getting a job as a secretary, and she nearly had an aneurism. She never finished college and she worked as a secretary for fifteen years and she didn't want me to give up everything I've worked for to get a shitty job, etc. etc. Not that I have anything right now, such as job prospects.
Anyhoo, at least I have my computer back. It seems fine so far. Maybe it'll last a lot longer than the computer dude thinks it will.
