alright weekend. i had some things on my mind. sort of got me down, but no use in thinking about it. sigh. i tried to relax. i went to balboa park today with a friend. went to the photographic museum, botanical gardens, and a tattoo exhibition. finished cleaning my apartment... well maybe theres a little more
here are some pictures:
down the street from my apartment.
a perfect place for valentina and pumpkin and me.
lilly pads in a reflection pool, too windy to reflect though.
alien looking orchid from the botanical gardens
my favorite orchid.
the photography museum was pretty cool. it was all war related. first one was female war journalists. pretty amazing pictures. sometimes i catch myself looking at a picture, thinking about how they set up the scene. then remember its real. someone was actually standing there 10 minutes after bombs were dropped on a city somewhere in russia. it totally blows my mind. makes me think of how many photographers flocked to new orleans last year. i guess thats why the title is photo jounalists. telling stories through the photos. guess i always thought it was photos FOR a store.. not the story themselves. next area had pretty recent war pictures. one of my favorite was a soldier standing in a massive crater from a bomb. there was a huge bulldozer partially blocking the view. and the colors were amazing. really dark blue on the outside of the picture, sort of like it was dawn, and towards the middle it changed to rich yellow color, where the soldier was standing. really cool.
well i should get to bed. i hope pumpkin made it home safe tonight. hope everyone else is safe and having sweet dreams. <3
