Ahhh, what the hell.
Fabulous rant to be inserted here, need to do some research.
Ok, here it is boys and girls.
The other night, after the idiot-in-chief danced around the podium with that stupid little smile on his face, (FBI traitors...my middle name was different in the '60s when I was a member of SDS so I already have a file) I had occasion to listen to "a rising star in the Democratic party".
Let me tell you about this moron!
Tim Kaine....another fucking lawyer...opens up shop in Richmond, Va. and marries the daughter of a powerful ex-governor. He is soon elected to city council and then Mayor and serves a total of 7 years. Now this is remarkable because Richmond city council also included a heroin addict and convicted felon who actually got re-elected when he got out of jail, a baptist minister who was convicted and sent to prison for some shit I can't remember, and two other members who I believe were convicted of embezzlement. This is all even more humorous because these clowns had the balls to televise their meetings on C-SPAN. Yes, the whole country got comic relief from watching Richmond city council meetings. I know this for a fact because I was visiting Houston once (another shithole, but we'll save that for now) and overheard locals laughing about it. Tim's big claim to fame during his term was Project Exile which supposedly reduced the homicide rate by 40% in the city. Well, as a former paramedic in that hell hole I can tell you that's bullshit.
Ok, so mister big shot politician spends 7 years in this pig sty and decides he's going to run for Lt. Gov. in 2001. Somehow he manages to win by capturing only 50% of the vote in a 2 man race. He puts in his 4 years, and on the coattails of Gov. Mark Warner (you know, Mr. Chairman of the Armed Sevices committee)
just got himself elected Gov. with an amazing 52% of the vote in a 3 man race. (Note, they're all men in VA)
If you listen to this guy you'll find out that he's actually a right wing religious reactionary. Fiscal conservatism is putting it mildly......and the fucking list just goes on. So, I'm gonna stop here and ask you: Is this who you want to be a "rising star" in the Democratic party?
EDIT
Oooh I got some more for ya!
Yes, I was a member of SDS and I was at Grant Park (Chicago) in 1968. (Do some research you lazy bums!) See what the pigs did to a bunch of middleclass suburban kids!
The first year I was eligible for the Vietnam War draft I was number 364. The second year, the year it was ended, I was number 4. Thank whatever I didn't have to go. Too many of my high school friends (these are 18 year old kids I'm talking about) came back in body bags. I was all set to go to college in Toronto, 'cause I sure as shit wasn't going to war. I am totally 100% opposed to any war, except maybe WWII. BUT, I feel tremendously guilty about my actions back then. I feel like I dishonored MY country and my generation, and so I wanted to say that although I do not support our President or our current model of government or our military regime; I thank God that there are men and women who are willing to stand on the line in the sand to protect me from tyranny and injustice and harm, who are willing to give up their lives so that I may live. I encourage you, as I do, to take the opportunity to thank them whenever possible.
Here's some more:

BTW, I'm pretty much agnostic having never really found the truth. I just saw that on C-SPAN and wanted to share it with you. Take it as you will.
No offense, but you actually seem suprised that politicians are dirty. They are no more innocent or clean than Monicas Blue Dress.
Holy Cow, you were and SD?!?!?!?!
It's nice to know that you will stand up, literally for what you believe in
