hey...I just got back from the Fear Factory show. Goddamn....that was amazing.
I thought there was only going to be 3 bands, but 2 local bands and one semi-popular band were added.
The first local band I don't know the name of because we got there around 7:20 and doors opened at 7PM Usually there's at least a half hour of emptiness between open doors and bands playing. Then this band Walls of Jericho came on out in the main hall. AMAZING! The lead signer looks like she could be an SG girl! She was going nuts on the stage. Awesome band. Then local band Inherence came on and rocked the house in the club area! Local boys sure know how to fucking get the crowd started. Then Sworn Enemy came out in the hall. I saw them on the Jagermeister Tour in April when they opened. They are a great hardcore band. Again, another amazing band. Then Inherence came back on again in the club and played another kick-ass set with the lead singer of the other local band coming up on stage and singing with the Inherence lead singer. The Inherence lead singer jumps into the crowd and is growling as he's pushing people around the moshpit. Fucking aweseom! I hate moshpits, but that was pure adrenaline and energy right there!
Then Mastodon came out in the hall. I was a little leery of them at first.. They started to grow on me towards the middle of their set, and by the end they were friggin bringing the house down.. Awesome solos! Two singers! rocked the joint!
Then there was a lull. I caught up with my buddy and he told me he got the lead singer and bassist from Inherence's autographs! That will be worth money when they hit the big time. Watch for them in a few years. I got an Inherence t-shirt and a FF t-shirt. The one I wanted that had the FF logo in a barcode and said Machines of Hate were out of XL. I was pissed. SO I got the Archetype America Tour t-shirt. Now I can cut the sleeves off of my FF Edgecrusher T-shirt .
So, FF comes on. They came right out swinging. Now I saw them on the Jagermeister tour in April with Sworn Enemy (Chimaira and Slipknot were there too). I knew what to expect. This show was FAR FAR better than I had expected! I screamed the lyrics to most the songs in the beginning. Then I could feel my throat getting sore and I stuck to just headbanging, even though whiplash had set in long before Mastodon even came on. FF even did a cover of a Pantera song. It's from the Cowboys From Hell CD. I just can't think of the song right now. At least it sounded like Pantera. The place friggin exploded. They did a couple of "slow" songs. Burton is one of the most underrated vocalists in metal. He is simply amazing. James Hetfield ain't got nuttin on Burton! They played almost an hour and 1/2. Pretty decent considering they had 6 bands playing and it only cost $16!
Too bad it wasn't a sell-out. I've seen Sevendust concerts ther fuller than that. I was kinda sad about that too, because I know there was a Chimaira show at the Penny Arcade tonight too. This definitely had to affect sales.
FF still remains one of my favorite bands. Sworn Enemy is definitely growing on me. Mastodon is a killer band. Walls of Jericho might go far if they can harness the chick's vocals and power a little better. Inherence are local boys, and they're ready to take the world by storm!
And I have to be at work in 6 hours and am completely exhausted and wired as hell at the same time. I'm thinking sleep won't hit me til about 6:25AM, and I'll be up at 6:30AM.

sciatica is just a symptom of an underlying back problem, so if he has a herniated disk, then sciatic pain is not surprising.
