ok, so yesterday I went to get a tattoo. I've decided on Altered Image to do it. I talked to Pat yesterday. He actually owns the place and does a lot of the tattooing. I talked to him for a while about designs, custom tats, freestyling, the importantce of a tattoo meaning something to me, and price. He showed me a laptop computer that had litterallly a ton of flash pages, but we both stressed how important uniqueness is. The shop was very clean. And he was extremely helpful. I told him what my plans were for this tat, and a little bit down the road.
I've decided on a tribal dragon "profile" (which is a side view of the dragon). The dragon head will be on my shoulder with the body coming down and the bottom of the dragon/tail comes to the middle of my upper arm. It's going to be a simple black, but it's going to look like it was stamped/engraved in my skin rather than simply laying on. It's gonna look awesome. Then, down the line I'll get a tribal band around the middle of my upper arm to kinda tie in with the tail and rest of the design. Pat came up with some cool ideas for even later down the line.
The only downfall is that my appointment is 2 weeks from yesterday. It'll be well worth the wait.
Then, last night we went to STEEL Music Hall to see a band that a guy from work is in. We got there around 9:30 (the show started at 7:30) and I thought we missed him. We stayed and watched two hardcore bands. One of the bands was Renouf. Keep an eye out for these guys. They are damn good. Then my buddy's band went on, The Hoodies. Not bad, but a little too emo for me. I'd see them again tho. I think they have potential for a bunch of high school kids. The other two bands were ok that followed.
Oh, and I should probably mention that this was the first test of my new hearing aids in an uber-noisy situation. They amazed me. There were times when I could hear people speaking better than they could hear me. And the aids actually made the music sound good. It was loud but it was almost like not piercing like the analog ones. I think these are the way to go right now.
We'll see how they hold up when they get punished by Fear Factory on Wednesday at Water Street Muisic Hall.
