more pretty pictures i find and keep.. because i like'em.. and they're just so damn pretty..
thanks to everyone who wished me happy bday! wooo! no really, that was actually quite nice. i never like making a deal of my bday so i never tell anyone. my best friends never know. i find it amusing when they later find out like a week or two later. however, girls always seem to remember bdays.. even when i don't actually recall telling them when it is..
anyway, i'll wrap up this holiday road trip picture thing i started 2 weeks ago now..
erm...
we left the cave area, as seen in previous journal.. and.. then we just drove a lot.. for hours.. on very rough road.. in the scorching heat...
but on our journey on this very rough terrain, we came across these crazy italian tourists, driving this vehicle on this very unforgiving terrain (in pictures it might not look so bad, but driving through this in the car is like being in a boat rocked by waves in a storm)
then we came across this white horny fellow sitting by the side of the road..
then we reached a sandy beach (previous one was all pebbles)
and further up from that was an even better spot..
and then, we did other things that were far from exciting, not that it was so far, but i don't have any more pictures of the trip anyway.
and so then we went home...
ok, that picture was actually taken on another day entirely.. but it goes as a closure to this damn trip that i'm tired of uploading pictures for.
the end.
NOW FOR SOME NEW UPDATED PICTURES!
was at a friend's place earlier today, so decided to take pictures of him and his beloved swords.
we like swords
however, the sunlight was pretty severe at this time of day and at particularly this spot (the garden). i must've taken a picture on every inch of this garden trying to get a spot where the sun actually worked for me. it wasn't easy.. but some worked.
and here we have some special effects courtesy of the sun..
then i remembered to tell'im to let his hair down. coz it looks way cooler this way. why all my friends insist on growing their hair long and never letting it down is beyond me. doesn't that kinda defy the point of growing it?
oh i love taking pictures!
i'm not into kung fu or samurai movies at all. never have been. i'm more of a Rambo fan than a Rocky fan. i prefer guns. but anyway, the cartoon Samurai Jack.. wow. now that's where it's at. damn i watch a lot of cartoons..
and damn have i watched a lot of movies recently...
Sideways - really liked this. some realistic intellectual down to earth kinda humour for a change. as opposed to all the silliness i usually watch.
Closer - really liked this. quick-fire dirty cruel and direct dialogue. i didn't know how else to explain that...
Sky Blue - a japanese anime, which shouldn't have been dubbed, but damn fuckers! they dubbed it. and in doing so, they kept up the tradition of finding the worst voices to compliment the characters. *sigh* either way, it was nice. very pretty. good music. action scenes were awesome. but hated the end. it was over-dramatised.
House Of A 1000 Corpses - this started out ok-ish for me. then i started drifting off to sleep. i just about managed to stay awake. wasn't impressed. i love Rob Zombie's music though. so it's a good thing he didn't give up the day job.
The Devil's Rejects - i liked this waaay better than 1000 Corpses. maybe coz there was lots of gun toting action in it, right from the go. i like gun toting action...
Human Traffic - i'd watched this before years ago but i was probably too fucked to remember much at the time. so when i watched this at a little get-together with rainwolfkin and friends (thanks guys) it was like watching it for the first time again. very british, very silly, but often quite accurate on aspects of everyday life .
Shinjuku Triad Sociaty - we watched this while eating. well, we didn't know it would be full of extreme and unnecessary violence, (tearing out someone's eye with a wire?) guys raping guys, full of guy-on-guy blowjobs, licking of bloody wounds, etc.
it was a gangster movie apparently. but also a Takashi Miike film. and i've seen enough of his films to know what to expect by now.
also bought dvd's!
a film i strangely fell in love with. even though it's one of those slow as fuck films where nothin really happens. written, directed and starring Johnny Depp. and music by Iggy Pop. a perfect film to sleep to..
i quite liked this first time round. so i'm happy to give it many more rounds as background movie environment. does that make sense? i don't care.
also bought this album
it's pretty much straight-up EBM. i kinda liked it more when i heard samples to it before buying. then it kinda had to grow on me. i like it now. well, half of it. but that half i like a lot.
what my hair looked like a week ago - front and back! but will have to go back and shave it in a few days..
i have to start shortening my journal entries. this is getting too much..
