went to a sports shop the other day (i haven't been in one since i was a teenager - they haven't changed much) with the intention of buying a baseball bat. so i go up to the first "assistant" i see and ask'im if they got baseball bats. he sais 'yes'. i ask'im 'where are they?' to which he sais 'sorry...' so i ask'im again 'where are the baseball bats?' and he's like (in broken english) 'what you are saying... i don't...' so i go 'you know.. b-a-s-e-b-a-l-l b-a-t-s' and resort to physically showing him how one might swing a bat.. so then he goes 'ah.. yes. they at back.'
so sign language won in the end...
but why oh why is this guy assisting customers in a popular sports shop in central london when he doesn't talk/understand proper fuckin english??
i'd forgive'im if i was askin for action figures or Doom3 on the xbox or some shit like that! but come on!
and the same goes for food delivery. now i know that most of what i order is foreign food, but does the person taking your order and address have to be a non-english speaking individual too? is that supposed to be part of the experience of eating foreign cuisine? coz i can do without it! is it so hard to just hire someone who speaks english to handle the phones?
i don't mean to sound like a bastard. but it's certainly annoying if you're ordering for one, but can be kinda fun i guess when with friends. and a bit of a mission if you're stoned out of your head.
got my dad stayin over for a couple of days, so had to change the lightbulb in my room to a "normal" bright one, coz the one i have is blue but so dim, you don't even realise it's on. it basically makes the room go from dark and black to dark dim blue.
but every time he visits he moans that it's too dark and can't see anythin. well... like.. hello! that's what the torch is for! (but i didn't tell'im that..) but there's still some extra lighting in my room through candles, lava lamps and a bedside dimmer lamp. i don't like lights. in fact i hate them. to the extreme. and they give me headaches after a while. so i'm suffering in my own room right now..
but at least this was a chance to take some pics in my room while it's temporarily bright.. this is only otherwise possible with natural light from outside - which london doesn't have much of.
previous journal room pics were taken during sundown...
new bat
bad ass or jackass...
this is just too bright for me..
some entertainment (usually need the torch to go through these)
somehow this part still seems dark..
going for a homerun..
damn.. i think i broke somethin...
so sign language won in the end...
