I am in San Jose again...the center of Costa Rica literally and figuratively.
I am staying at a very bright and colerful hostel that plays Oasis continously to placate the large influx of british travellers. I am running out of money and squandered away too many colones last night trying to win a painting that a man did kneeling on the street. He would sell you three chances to win the painting for 100 colones (about 25 cents) His work was beautiful, using spray paint and crumpled trash he did portraits of beaches I recently left.
I spent several days in Montaverde...it is the rainforest reserve that is located on a large green mountain... this is where the hippie tourists come- european and american. The place was a bit too similar to Oregon's claustrophobic forests and hazy grey days but it was still fun to hike. I did a canopy tour here...where you zip from tree to tree high above the forest canopy on zip line cables. It must have been too many Imperials the night before because I didn't quite understand how to brake until I was already into the thick of it. I proceeded to crash into the guides several times... seriously bruising my head, knees, legs, and back before I figured it out...oops. I have never been to good at slowing down. The view from up there was beautiful though and the lack of control was jarring and fantastic.
I come home on Monday which is good as I have about 5 dollars left and I am having an unbelievable craving for Kraft Macoroni and Cheese.
Once I'm home its back to work and figuring out what I'm doing with my life now that I have my degree...I need to pick a graduate school and focuse...again.
take care lovelies!
