I watched Secretary this morning. I took notes.
Put your hands on the desk, palms down and your feet flat on the floor.
Good.

In response to your query regarding City fun...
Are you going with a romantic interest or family or friends? tourist attractions are hard to avoid, so some of these i mention won't be attractive to you.
art: moma on third st, legion of honor (the museum and the view, hiking) golden gate park has a bunch of little museums to check out. nice walk, too.
outdoors: coit tower (best view ever of the city, from the baybridge to the goldengate) chrissy field (under the golden gate, hiking as well, not AS touristy as some) muir woods (north of sj hiking trails) fisherman's wharf (good seafood but very touristy, same for ghiradelli square.. you can catch the trolley from there)
food: north beach for italian (of course!) or chinatown for chinese. or both; they're right next to each other... i particularly like the stinking rose, because i'm a garlic fanatic. don't go with anyone you don't want to be smelly around.
you mentioned you like kerouac... you must go to citylights!!!-- my favorite bookstore ever-- on columbus street, if you're into books minus the barnes & noble bullshit. jack kerouac alley and vesuvio's (where ginsberg & kerouac went to drink and discuss) beside it. in the bookstore: three floors of wonderfulness, upstairs is howl, on the road, everything the beat masters ever wrote... great zine collection, if you're into that. (i am). from your reading selections, i'd say you'd LOVE this place. on the border of c-town, n.beach, and the red light district...( hustler honeys, anyone?)
nightlife ... i don't really go out to bars or anything, so i can't help you there. sorry.
anything else? email me. otherwise, dress in warm layers, comfy shoes, maybe bring an umbrella, and have fun!!!
