So I'm biking home on Saturday night from work, and I decide that I need to stop by my friends house to pick up my zippo i had left there a week ealier. I'm figuring it won't take more than ten minutes, which I was very wrong about, as I finally got home about 30 minutes ago. This is because, on my way back from his house, I bike down a hill (I'm wearing a helmet and have lights on my bike), and as I'm heading towards the intersection at the bottom of the hill, I see a car zooming into it. I try and brake, but am moving too quickly, so I fly off my bike right into the path of the oncoming car, which smashes into me and knocks me about 10 feet or so.
The guy luckily stops and gets out of his car isntead of driving off, and calls 911 for me. An ambulance picks me up, and drives me to one hospital. I stay there for about 4 hours, and they determine I have bruised my kidney, liver, and both lungs, as well as scratching one of my lungs. On top of that, I've broken three spinous processes near the base of my spine. They are also worried that I might have torn the lining of my intestine, so I'm transfered over to another hospital that specializes in trauma. I'm ambulanced over there, and immediatly have a whole crew working on me, injecting me with another IV and a cathuter (Which, if you've ever had, really fucking sucks). I'm given a CT scan, which reveals I have nothing in my gut, so I'm put in a room for the rest of the day and the following night.
So now I've been released. I don't need a cast or anything, and I won't suffer any permanent damage, but I can't work for at least a week or go to school.
And it hurts to move/sit/do nothing.
Interesting weekend for sure.
