i am truely amazed. i mean really stunned. it was my friends birthday on saturday so we went to one of the more respected venues in oxford. it was a night called chicks with decks and it plays underground angsty indie. this place attracts art students and all those fashion conscious kids that i try not to hang around with because there personalities are about as exciting as a wet pavement, so there were people that i saw there that i used to be pretty close with a couple of years and then we went our seperate ways ie me going and working and them becoming these clones of readlly bad 80's hair cuts and shoulderpads. i could barely stop laughing as i stood at the centre of these strange beings. so involved in letting evverone know how they are just so original they are. so they've given me these websites to check out, with there work on these "virtual type galleries" and i'm gob smacked. my dad and i often have long debates about the which way we think art is going and wash this topic down with a very respectable bottle of red. until early hours of the mornings.

if you've ever watched the mighty boosh and you know the 2 girls in that imagine a sketch of them as srt students and you will only half understand the amount these girls intrigued me. but what am i saying really it's not just these girls but it's the boys, with these light demin tight jeans and a boaters jacket or a complete pete doherty ensemble with winckle pickers that have been freshly polished this day. it is the only time ihave almost cired because i had not had a camera.

well i'm not going to say i dress really originally. i can be catergorized. i have many piercings, you will see many more people the same as me on this site. i'm not trying to stand out i'm not trying to be soooo different. but these people were looking more disgruntled if they saw someone more ridiculous looking than themselves. with bigger shoulder pads. or a more granny like dress or something that had more wholes from a charity shop. or had sharper lines in there hair or more back combed hair.

these people have put themselves into an art college catorgy. it's always "i'm at art college" these people have very little talent. and this comes round to what my father and i talk about ......what is art? is art something that shows a level of your hand to eye accuracy or is it something that is measured on how big your shoulder pads are?is it something that can only be acheived if you are more eccentric than the next person? i feel that art is spiralling out of control. people today do not hold the talent of a renassance painter. they cannot paint pictures that provoke emotion anymore. artist today are about sketchy lines that are more obscure than the object itself.
