World's Oldest Person Dies, Then the Next One and the Next; What's Going On?
Why are the oldest people in the world suddenly dying?
Is it from eating spinach?
Is it al Qaeda?
Is it global warming?
Is it George Bush?
Emma Faust Tillman, who was born to former slaves and lived under 21 American Presidents, died just four days after becoming the world's oldest-known living person. She was 114.
"She got too exited about setting the record," said a relative. "That killed her!"
Tillman assumed the title as world's oldest person with the death of 115-year-old Emiliano Mercado del Toro of Puerto Rico. The world's oldest person is now Yone Minagawa of Fukuoka, Japan, who is 114.
Minagawa was not available for comment, said her nurse. "She was so shocked she went into a coma!"
