So I'd entirely forgotten about the disposable camera I'd taken in to get developed a couple of weeks ago, up until I was hanging out with my bro and he started showing me a couple of pics from his training. Anyways I finally went and picked them up. They're kind of disappointing in a way, mostly cause we weren't allowed to have cameras during our actual training, so I don't have any pictures of me doing cool stuff or really doing anything aside from hanging around in the barracks back at 46 AG, most of which are from my last day there, which was the only time we could have cameras and they couldn't confiscate them. Sadly this was after I'd turned in my issue gear, so I don't even have any of me in BDUs, which I look pretty good in. But I suppose if I really want some, I'll just take some of me wearing the set I have here at home. So anyways, robb has pics to put up, and will do so gradually for the next whatever amount of time.
In recent news, things are going the same as ever, for the most part. My younger bro Marc came in on leave last Thursday, and will be here for a few weeks before he ships off to his permanent duty station. Talking to him, swapping stories and comparing our respective experiences, he had it a lot easier than I did. Which makes sense, I mean, I was a tanker for fucks sake, a combat MOS with one of the toughest OSUTs in the Service, but still, I can't help but feel annoyed, as he'll be out there in his little air-conditioned trailer working with the signal corps, and I'll be stuck here at home doing nothing and wallowing in my own self-pity.
Anyways, he's home, and we've been hanging out. My older brother Chris would be here too, but oddly enough he has summer AT with his unit for the next two weeks, which is kind of funny timing but kind of bad, too, since it would be cool if we could all chill and go do something as brothers, adults, and fellow soldiers. We haven't had a lot to do with each other these last few years, our lives taking us in different directions, even though we all ended up in the same branch of service (for completely different reasons and without even discussing it with each other, haha).
So yeah, that's what's been going on, in case anyone was wondering why I haven't been online much this last week or so. I hope everything is cool with everybody. Take care.
PICTURES OMG!
Skutch, Mugica, and Heiselman. These two were probably my best battle buddies after we got back to 46 AG. Mugica was in the hospital with me, and Heiselman and I were in the same platoon back at ye old Fox 2-81 AR CO. Outprocessing would have been even more like Hell if these guys hadn't been there for me.
Skutch and Clemens on the day I got my final discharge orders and got back into my civi's. Clemens was in the hospital with me as well, and just got to 46 AG like a day or so before I left for home. Good guy, but a little on the crazy side.
