hey y'all! I finally am getting around to listening to some new music.
first off... New Lana Del Rey album is intoxicating. I didn't think anything would beat Born To Die but I have listened thru Ultraviolence 3x and still am getting goosebumps! And I just watched the video for Shades of Cool and Mark Mahoney (a very well-known old school tattooer) is in the video! totally awesome!!
the other album I finally listened to was Fuego, the new Phish studio album. I saw them at SPAC on the 4th of july and it was pretty awesome. so i gave fuego a listen and the only songs I liked from that album is The Line and Waiting all night. needless to say I was a little disappointed by my guys :/
and here is the amazing 2nd set
okay this one has been out for a while, but, Coheed & Cambria: The Afterman. each song comes with a cool piece of art, and my favorite song from that album is Dark Side of Me. My ex got me into that band a few years ago and I still hold them dear and I still think about him when i listen to them. yeah i'm pathetic, idk what to say :/
Moving On! well... not really. the same ex also sent me this song a few months ago and i listen to it whenever i get stressed out. It's called smells like content by The Books. it really is an amazing song, i highly recommend you give it a listen!
another awesome song I've been listening to a lot isAvant Gardener by Courtney Barnett I have to say, the music video is a bit of a let-down. especially when the song has a strong narrative tone, I expected the video to go along with the story, but whatevs courtney! i'm listening to her whole Album now and it's pretty chill, awesome yeah lol.
the last one I wanna talk about is a local band, on the rise here in beautiful Upstate NY( and yes there is more NY than the city), theyre from Greenwich which is central NY i think? anyway, theyre called East Bound Jesus or EBJ. they are a bluegrassy/country fusion group with good ol foot stompin' tunes! they have a song called Holy Smokes! and the video actually goes along with the song!! yay! They put on awesome shows and get everyone dancing and shouting the words to all of their songs! it is an incredible experience seeing them play!
well thats about it for now! if you have any suggestions of music i should listen too, leave it in the comments! as you can see i really do listen to just about every style of music so dont be shy!
