So, the past 2 months, I've been walking 3 miles 5 times a week. 2 weeks ago I stepped it up a notch. I put together a 35lb backpack on every other day. So far I have toned out and shaved 6lbs off! I came across a running vest that is 25lbs last week and am now adding it to my arsenal. This month, my goal is to be able to do 3 miles with 60 lbs of gear on. Here's to shin splints and night time leg cramps <3 :D

Stretch, hydrate, ibuprofen or naproxen, and eat more bananas for potassium to help prevent leg cramps. Don't push too hard with shin splints.

Thanks for the info! Its been almost 10 years and I am out of the loop big time! I do at least a 15-30 min stretch routine (varies if I do upper body work or not).
