been a while so maybe I should write something...
ummm... hmmm... life with two kids, while a lot of fun and very rewarding, doesn't leave time for much else that would be of interest to anyone who is not the parent of said kids.
well, one thing I can say is the heat this summer has made me so glad I bought a house with a pool. it's nothing fancy, but we have a lot of green space behind the house with a small forest and a ravine that drops down to a nature trail that runs alongside a stream... and a pool, which is here because the guy that sold us the house used to run a pool company. I've never lived anywhere that had a pool before but I've always been an avid swimmer so this is heaven for me. like I said the house itself is no raving hell but the property is beautiful and jada and I are both constantly marvelling how lucky we are to have it. the sad thing is if you saw it in the winter you'd never know how beautiful it is in the summer.
as usual, I'm in a lot better shape moodwise for the summer as well. I have that seasonal affective disorder shit - SAD or whatever it's called. so winters really suck and summers are usually pretty good. so woo hoo for me.
got the studio computer sorted out finally... it was that goddamn Oasys card that was causing all the problems as it turned out. so now I'm back to the Hoontech and actually finally recording some shit from the modular. only on thursdays though, since that is the only day of the week I'm not either working or being mr. mom.
vivian is putting full sentences together now. she's not even 2 yet. a lot of people seem marvelled by that. I dunno, I guess our whole idea of talking to your kids intelligently instead of being condescending and treating them like idiots actually works.
rosalyn is starting solid food already. not even four months old and she weighs like 17 pounds. we've nicknamed her "gigantor". she's really alert, strong and always enthralled by her environment, which is cool. she likes to be scared, literally. you catch her off guard and make her flinch and she starts giggling like mad. and she smiles all the time. I guess we're doing something right. who knew?
wow. it's weird to read back what I just wrote and realize that I actually sound happy. what a strange sensation.

Oh, and I got a Yamaha "magicstomp" for one third of the usual price. I haven't used it yet, so I hope it's good.
