i hate to "clear out" the creepydollz so quickly, but, i gotta vent this shit...
i almost got in a fight with some jackass on my way to get my kid from school today. see, there's a low-rental housing complex between here and the school. and, when certain parts of it aren't covered in snow - a few paths that wind between some of the units - they make for a nice little shortcut over to the school. one of these paths is accessed by going to the end of a shared driveway between a couple of the units.
so, i was making my way toward said path and this guy came out from one of the housing units and started giving me shit... the exchange went something like this:
him: "so you think it's cool to walk through other people's property?"
me: "excuse me?"
him: "you go waltzing through here like you own the place. why don't you stay the fuck off other people's property?"
at this point i basically tore him a new one:
me: "ok pal, first of all, this here is public fucking property... YOU don't own SHIT. secondly, MY fucking tax dollars are subsidizing the cheap rent you get to pay in order to live here. third, it's not like i was walking through your lawn - or should i say, the lawn of the unit you LIVE in. so if i feel like cutting through here i will, thanks."
he'd been inching toward me as i was saying this, but when i stood in place, rolled up my sleeves and balled my fists, he turned around and went back into "his" house.
lest anyone get the wrong idea here, this isn't some kind of tirade against people who live on assistance or whatever. far from it. this guy just pissed me off because in my mind, it was basically the same thing as someone trying to tell me i don't have any right to be in a public park (for example). i mean, this housing complex is owned by either the municipal or provincial GOVERNMENT (not sure which, provincial i THINK). so it's "crown land" - just like the nature trail that runs behind my house. do i get annoyed in the summer with the occasional loud user of said trail? sure! do i have any right to tell them to get the fuck off of it? nope. cuz it's NOT MY PROPERTY.
so, just sayin - people who get all indignant about things or places they don't even have any rightful claim to = asshats.
me = assHOLE? maybe. i think i had a legit point tho
