I am going to kill my 4 year old.
if she doesn't find a way to tell us WTF is going on with her.
I've come to understand through reading and commiseration with other parents, that some post-potty-training regression is normal.
but lately she's been pissing in her bed almost every night, despite repeated warnings that she'd have to go back to wearing diapers if it kept happening. and now, the crown gem: they have a little kiddie pool on the deck and when they're playing in it, we just let them go naked. a lot easier than peeling a bathing suit off of them afterward, and this way if the 2 year old relieves herself we just clean it up off the deck instead of scrubbing streaks out of a bathing suit. well, this morning I had to relieve MYSELF, so I went into the bathroom (which has a window that overlooks the deck) while they continued to play. while I was in there, the 4 year old announced that she needed to poop. I asked her to be patient and hold it for two minutes. fine. she came in after me, did her business, and as I was helping her, um, clean up after herself, she says "sorry for pooping on the deck". GRRRRRRRR
so, I've made her start wearing a diaper again. I don't know what else to do. but it's pissing me off, because I KNOW she knows better and she was doing fine for months... she was getting up at night whenever she had to go. now this.
we can't help thinking there might be a bigger issue behind it... or maybe it's just because she sees her 2 year old sister NOT being punished for doing the same things (depsite our explaining to her that her sister isn't a big girl yet - and believe me, this kid is smart enough to understand what we're saying to her)... or something else. and if it's something else, we really don't know how to get her to tell us what it is.
*sigh*
