This blog won't be particularly exciting to you but some exciting things are happening at the company I work for. If you've followed me for awhile you probably already know what I do for a living. If you don't know, about three years ago my brother called me with a part time job offer. He knew I was struggling financially so he asked me to work in his warehouse. He's the owner of one of the largest industrial supply companies in the state. Well, three years later I've worked my way up to manager of shipping and receiving with four employees working under me. I work long hours, it's physically demanding and at times very frustrating. But I love my job. I don't always like it, but that's to be expected. I'm lucky to say that I still love the work.
So, anyway, here's the exciting part. We're moving. With over 250,000 products in our warehouse, we are moving to a new location. After months of planning and building, the occupancy permit has been approved and we can soon start moving products into the new place. So I went up there today to have a look around and I was blown away by how great it is. It's not as big I expected, to be honest, but that's just my humble opinion. We will be more efficient and more accurate than ever before. So here you go. This is my new "office":
It's a work in progress, as you can see, but it's coming along nicely. My brother has built a successful business and I look forward to being part of our continued success.
