I think he's crazy in the head. Or at least has some serious issues to deal with. It's strange to find a guy of the nerdier persuasion (trust me I know a lot of them, and hell am one), that isn't interested in a relationship. Also, most guys (again, speaking from experience) generally relate well to bluntness, as we aren't that bright. 
You can find yourself a much better guy in St. Louis. Great city and it's got a lot of gamers (or at least it did when I lived there a few years back). Have a great time.
