Yesterday my VSLF was off work — her rotation right now means that instead of working insanely long hours, she's working insanely few hours. We were trying to think of fun and exciting things to do.
We went grocery shopping.
This sounds so lame.
Our favorite supermarket in San Francisco is Trader Joe's. They've got all kinds of good comestibles at low low prices. Their cookie selection is staggering. And their beer & wine is always excellent and always cheap. We regularly bought delicious $2 bottles of wine there. Two dollars! Delicious!
So we took a train out to the nearest TJ which was on Long Island. 45 minute train ride to Hewlett. The store was great, but they had no booze! Bastards. Apparently there's one in New Jersey that does, so we'll have to make another pilgrimage. We did spend $80 on tasties. Mmm... Chocolate Almond Laceys... Vegetable Gyoza... Tamales...
Speaking of shopping, I'm going to buy a digital camera! Yes, ragingwhore80, I'm sure an expensive and high quality one is the best way to go. But I'm pretty poor. So I'm going for the $10 model. Yes, I know it's going to take terrible, terrbile pictures. But, the way I figure it, I'm going to have way more fun with it than $10 worth.
Looks like we're going to spend the night in Boston on Monday.
