When I lived in Liverpool ("Broken Glass Capital of the World") in the late 90s, this sculpture was placed in the city centre. It struck me as very un-English, but that's my own prejudices. A lot of people did hate it. I love it. I think it's whimsical and cute. Next time I go back I want to find it on a t-shirt. The reason I mention it is I hadn't thought of it for the longest time and yesterday it showed up on Everlasting Blort and blew my mind.

Coffee thought of the day: Isn't it strange that we often don't watch ourselves think? Just about everything else we do, there's a little part of our mind watching us do it, saying "now I'm washing the dishes" and "now, I'm watering the rubber plant". That's why it's so easy to forget what you were thinkng about -- because you only realized you were thinking about something interesting after you got distracted.
Well.
Anyway.

Okay, I've figured out the foolproof way to print these ☆s and ♥s and whatnot in journals and postings and whatnot. You listening? You type in an ampersand("&"), an octothorpe("#"), a four-digit number, and a semicolon. Your mileage may vary.

Our apartment (looks upside-down from here) is on the 7th floor, which is the exact height of the belfry of the neighboring church. This guarantees that I wake up on Sundays by 11:00 at the latest. How do they get away with this shit?
