"I renounce fish, I vow never to set foot in that ocean again. That's how much fuck fish."
We watched Adaptation a few nights ago with some friends. That movie is so fucking perfect. Great writing, great acting, great directing, bizarre story. It's a very ironic movie, but there's absolutely no tiresome winking ironic tone, in which I think most directors would have indulged. The story turns absurd in the third act, but all the performances stay entirely believable and touching. I was hoping to find that the DVD has director commentary (it doesn't) but I think any further reflection on the film might make it suffer.
