Last night the VSLF and I went to BigBabyBrooklyn's Lounge Arcade over in Brooklyn. I enjoyed Super Monkey Ball the most. I'd like to proudly point out that VSLF was gifted enough at the stupidly-difficult Smurfs (ColecoVision) to rescue Smurfette and win a free drink. Woo hoo!
I have never gotten home from Bergen St. (in Brooklyn) easily, and last night was no exception. The F train hates me. We were drunk on pixels and Brooklyn lager, so we didn't mind the delays too much. We played that game where (A) places their palms face-up and (B) lays their hands on top and tries to slap the tops of (A)'s hands. Our reflexes were slowed to such degree that the game was both fascinating and hilarious.
We spent Saturday at a party at a house upstate. The was a lake, barbecuing, beer, badminton, pretty much everything you might want. Even I, a light-fearing city troll, had to appreciate the scene. And lovely people and dogs, many of whom I'd never met.
The weather here in New York has been flawless as of late. I like to think of it as an apology after the spring that alternated between dreary rain and sweltering heat.
Sunday we had brunch (naturally) and bought CDs: Liz Phair, Radiohead - Hail to the Thief, Portishead, and a wild card $2.99 CD by a band called Laika. Hey — two eponymous and two "head"s. Anyway, they're all pretty good except for Liz Phair. We had to buy it, though; we've been fans for, like, ten years.

which portishead?
yeah, well, i know i'm probably slipping several rungs on the ladder by my prolonged absence...and my once promising sg society has lost a lot of its steam....
between my disorganized personal life, and the fact that i lost my internet a month ago, i venture that i've managed to slip into the ether of my friends' consciousnesses....
oh, well, what's done is done.
glad to hear that you're as active as ever nice choices in music...tho ms phair is one whom i respect but don't have quite the taste for...i like what she does, but can't just sit and listen to it over and over. not like i can do w/radiohead.
peace, and here's hoping that i'll be 'round often enough to get back in the swing of things,
