San Francisco is so much fun. I'm not sure I could stand to live here, but visiting is an absolute blast.
Friday night, met up with thatmikeguy at his work. He was still in a meeting at 6:30 pm on a Friday before a 3 day weekend (that's just sick AND wrong). When he finally got done, we met up with sweetcheeks (and what a sweetheart as well). From there, we went to an Italian restaurant where KittyMalarchy was tending bar. Talk about the hookup. KM went into the back to talk to the chef...she told him she had a vegan friend in the restaurant and asked if he'd be willing to do something special for him. This guy went ALL out. But not before coming out to where we were, introducing himself, and asking thatmikeguy if it would be okay if he could cook for him. Mike of course agreed (like you could say no to a chef who asks to cook for you personally). Then the chef said, "you just need to be sure and tell your waitress how many courses you plan on having this evening, and I'll match that." DAMN. In the mean time, SoM showed up (great seeing him again), Dave_H, and SixSixty also showed up (met them for the first time). So we had a grand meal with great company. Thanks KittyMalarchy, once again visiting you at work was a grand experience
From there, we headed out to a dance club where a band broke out. So much fun.
Yesterday we headed into Oakland for an outdoor Music and Art Festival where they had LOADS of art and 4 different music stages - $5 entry, head where you want. We specifically went to see a band called the Lovemakers. We saw several other bands throughout the day as well, plus I actually bought and ate a: Deep Fried Battered Twinkie with Chocolate Sauce. Hey now, before you start judging, it was for charity! It was funny, I ordered the thing, then went over to where our group was waiting on me. At that point, passerby's were stopping to watch me eat the thing!
A few of us also went to see March of the Penguins. 2 out of 3 of us fell asleep during the movie. NOT because it was a bad movie, but because we were just that wiped out. What I saw of it was actually good and interesting. However, at the end I will say that they put several questions in my head that were left unanswered.
Good times, thanks yous guys from SF (and Oakland).
