"I for one welcome our new Fantomas Overlords"
Mike Patton came out like a whirlwind of mischief and kept it up for the entire show. He seemed to be having a great time on stage, playing to the crowd, smiling from ear to ear like the Cheshire cat. The sound system was set perfectly to catch every screech and growl from Patton's lips. His voice hit eardrum breaking peaks in a painful yet pleasureful volume. The noise controlled the muscles in my face, sometimes making me squint but mostly pulling uncontrollable grins wide across my head. It all seemed to end so quickly and I was left almost unfullfilled...but then the crowd and myself screamed until the man marched back onstage to finish us off. Barking, chattering and squealing into the microphones in front of him he gave me what I came for. A memory I will never forget. It may not be that big of a deal to everyone but to me it was what my soul needed. Thank you Mr. Patton.
Okay I just had to get those feelings out. Anyways I loved the show. The 2 bands before them were okay for what they were. The first was a musical number that just makes me think what elevator muzak would sound like in Hell. And I don't mean "in Hell" as a bad thing, it just fits. The second was a band called the Locusts or something. They were all dressed in spandex and resembling a cross between Mexican Luchador wrestlers and insects. There music consisted of exactly what their look and name was....Bug noises. Very loud, lengthy and annoying bug noises. But finally Fantomas came to save the night and all was good again.
The highlights of the night was I got my old friend Jim to come out to the show with me. He was the lead singer of a local band called Vicrtims in Ecstacy. And some guy who looks and acts a helluva lot like Jesse, the wierd skinny VJ from MTV kept me laughing between bands with his constant attempts to pick up the ladies.
The bad thing is I took over 20 pictures and only about 2 of them are worth anything. I would post em in my journal but i haven't figured that out yet so they are in my album. So now its very late, I am deaf and have to work early so goodnight. I'm going to bed with a big stoopid grin on my face.
