That is the sound of me kicking myself in the head for missing not only a kick-ass party but the WORT thing as well. At least I got to hang out and slack with Rev. Velveteen at the station the previous week.
I did make it to the party in the park, didn't recognize anyone. Participated in the fencing club demo and tied 3-3 with one of the students. Hung out and bought a cool CD, pledged to go Veggie for a week, volunteered for PAVE. At least i get to see them pics. Thanks for that. smile

Alrighty. I've got spicy cheesebread and other foodstuffs for certain Milwaukeeites. And I got me some suds too for the partay. Whatever you wanna say about our fair state, we do know how to brew.

Ah, the cheesebread was a hit!! I just wish I hadn't shared. Then it'd be all mine today!

Had a good time hanging with a fellow geezer last night. Looking forward to a day on the pontoon this summer. I spaced my copy of the Isthmus, but I got the gist on the web.

Das ist alle. Genau. Ganz genau. EL SUICIDO LOCO

You have GOT to start your mornings off right. And I did so with some java and a bit of The Wild Bunch. Bill Holden, Ernest Borgnine, and The Dance of Death.

I opted in on the boat and we found a 24 footer yesterday which is mighty tempting. I'm gonna zip out to Edgerton later today to look at another one, though. The...

I did my good deed for the day tonight. We received a letter in the mail today that was for none of us yet it had our address. So I tracked down the person to whom it was addressed on the Net and the woman came over and picked it up.

Ron gave me the eponymous album by The White Stripes and I have to...

holy crap! that's a lot of questions... i think the party is around 7:30. Palomino probably opens at 3. I have no other plans for Saturday other than yoga stuff. and as far the waitress... that's a crap shoot. you'll have to wait and see biggrin

Yeah! Jerusalem is great!! I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. But I do. (I love switching tenses in mid sentence - keeps suckas on their toes). Last time I saw Earle was at Bummerfest and he appealed to all the Union members with his banter. Then he finished off the show by saying "if any of you work for a living, George Bush is out to fuck you over!!" A great yalp went up from the crowd. A wonderful moment.

Ye gods! It's been a few days.

Well, I was in a little bowling soiree today and took home the trophy for high men's game. Also got a gift certificate for dinner. This morning I had breakfast with my friend Melissa from Milwaukee and her new beau who lives here in Madtown. Yesterday I did the geek routine and played Dungeons & Dragons all day....

I miss WORT. And Bill Malone's show.

Things are afoot! I got a bid on the house and I've gotten stuff put away. My new computer is almost fully-armed and operational. Right now I'm downloading a John Coltrane and a North Mississippi All-Stars bootlegs. Once they're done I can burn everything of mine on my roommate's PC and xfer it over to mine. That's gonna take forever as I have lots of...

Funny you should try to quote the above and I actually know the line. The only one I remember from performing the 9th a number of years ago. As I recall, only one or two movements actually have singing. Made for a long and boring performance for the choir.

I didn't make the Sleepy Jackson. I should've gone. I was too lazy last night after a long day at the office. Had to decompress some way that didn't involve crowds, booze and loud music.

I'm stoked about the symphony season too. Milw. symphony is doing some great stuff, most notably a little Bartok. And they've got a 2 for 1 deal going on!

My sympathy re your father and friend's heart troubles. My dad's had two open heart's. A triple bypass and aortic valve replacement. I worry about him all the time . . . .

whasssup? going to elvira this weekend. are you coming next saturday? don't even think you can tell me NO.

I really need to get my computer setup with tht 20" monitor. I'm looking at a 17" screen and it seems so tiny....

I'm listening to a Morphine bootleg from 1993. It's weird how different they sound here than on their albums. Songs are stretched out to Grateful Dead-like proportions. "Yes" is nearly 10 minutes long. Now they're doing a little country ditty.

Today I...

I can't say I've ever heard of Red Psalm. How old is it? I could check imdb.com, but I'm being lazy. tongue

Another of my favorite long-take films is Running Time starring Bruce Campbell. Definitely worth checking out.

hope everything works out and i'll be seeing you soon, hon kiss

On your list yesterday you forgot to schedule "party with shiva, esquire and pants in milwaukee." Better get on that. I want someone who will appreciate my Barber's Closet stories. Especially the one where I used to tell newcomers that the bathroom was through Rod's, and to just go in there and ask someone where it is.

Alrighty then! The driver of the moving truck called today for directions. He said he'd be here between 8-9 tomorrow morning. Once he's gone, I've got to vacuum one room and mop another. Call to have utilities turned off and electricity put in my name. Then I hit the road! 1200 miles between me and home. I'm gonna lose 40 degrees in temperature but I'll...

Well, I've sent off my application to Flux to gain entry into the prestigious SG:NHS group. I write a lot but hate pretty much everything I come up with. So I sent a journal entry about a life experience which I find to be palatable. Part narrative, part confession with dashes of astronomy and Sacred Harp music thrown in for good measure. Will I be...

Beatallica rocks! They do Beatles songs like Metallica.

Beatallica

Some song titles:

Blackened the USSR
Got To Get You Trapped Under Ice
Everybody's Got a Ticket to Ride Except Me and My Lightning
The Thing That Should Not Let It Be

The singer does a great James Hetfield too.
