Hello all,
I'm relatively new here and I don't usually write much about myself in a personal profile. I will say that I have a background in graphic arts, in photography and in eduction. I mention this because this is one of only a few sites where many folks contribute in a positive way to make the experience better. Although I won't be contributing images, I'm hoping that I can contribute in other ways.
For example, every photo set is a formula where the goal is to present the subject in a particular way. You combine a setting, lighting, camera settings and, of course, the subject to achieve that result.
When photographing models, there are additional elements that include making the model comfortable, ensuring that there is appropriate eye contact, shooting in a variety of positions that show off the model's form and features, etc.
Now, I haven't been here long, but I have noticed two things. First, that the photography is generally excellent and very professional. I have the utmost respect for photographers who can take an amatuer or Instagram model and create the results we see here. (Of course the models are all spectacular, so that makes it a little easier.) And second, the the feedback section for each photo shoot is generally comprised of very brief compliments to the model. That is wonderful and probably exactly as it should be. But what I don't see is much in the way of specifics for the models and I have not seen any feedback opportunities for the photographers. Unless somebody objects, I will try to use this blog, separate from the comment sections in the sets, to drill down a little on some of the best sets and images I see on this site. My goal will be to highlight the good and perhaps point out a few things....primarily for the photographers, but occasionally for the models as well. I can tell you I probably won't be doing this often andd I'm not even sure when my first post after this will be, but my hope is and will always be to contribute to this wonderful site in a constructive and positive way.
If I am totally missing an area of the site that already exists for this purpose, please let me know.
Thanks,
Skippy
