Happy 2013!!!
I am sooooo happy to have 2012 behind me. Phew, it was a rough one. I lost three of my four cats - 1 to old age and 2 to cancer
And my last cat, Merlin, seemed to be depressed after losing a bunch of his siblings. I had several other friends who lost pets, some several pets. And several friends had the pleasure of being laid off Dec 14th. What a fantastic Christmas gift - NOT! Also, work was a bit rough, only got a soso annual evaluation, and there were no bonuses thanks to a crappy year - thanks economy.
But, I'm starting the new year with lots of positive thoughts -
Good thoughts, positive vibes
I had some good visits with family over the holidays, and got some nice gifts. Didn't ask for a lot, and in fact had one person take me up on a request that my gift be a donation. So there is a lucky family in a developing nation that got a flock of chicks and another that got a beehive. That's thanks to Heifer International.
I have a conference in Dallas next week, and I'm hoping that things will go well. I'll be poking my committee pretty sternly and saying that we can't put things off anymore. We need to make some hard decisions - now!! Hopefully that won't blow up in my face, but my boss has my back on this plan of attack. Fingers crossed.
Had a fantastic New Year's Eve. Went to a friend's house up in Philly. We played tons of games, had a lot of great food, plenty of wine/beer/liquor/mixed drinks, and met a lot of new people. It's been a few years since I've had the opportunity to go to a NYE party, and this was a great one.
So, I've got things in place to help work be more positive; I'm remembering that I have a decent job and a roof overhead; I have a ggood solid group of friends; and I've made some fantastic new friends via SG
So, all in all, I'm positive about a great 2013.
Good thoughts to all my SG friends, I wish you all the best in the new year!!

Sorry about the loss of the kitties, it's rough and yes, I'm sure your last standing is very depressed about losing siblings. As hard as it is for the humans, the animals get hit hard too. Here's to a better year!
