My rad Chrismassukah:
Channukah dinner with my mom, and rad photographer cousin.
Getting most of the way out of a six month financial hole.
The most awesomist of awesome nonshiksa ladies, Fenchurch sends me a badass care package in a dinosaur box.
Being on vacation this week.
Got some cool loot including, but not limited to: Space Ghost C2C vol. 1 & 2 DVD sets, two thinkgeek.com shirts, vodka, Eats, Shoots & Leaves, National Geographic subscription renewal, and moneys.
All day long A Christmas Story marathon owns my life, for the third consecutive year.
Christmas Eve party at my friend Steve's new awesome house, where I got ridiculously drunk, and didn't have to drive home. At this party I hung out with their 4 year old daughter Reilly, and had a blast. I am now positive that I am gonna have kids one day, something which even a couple years ago if you would have asked me about I would have spit in your face, and given you some dark, nihilistic response about bringing a child into this world, etc etc shut the fuck up Jason you misanthropic asshole and so on.
And the most awesome thing this Christmas? Well last year around this time I finally converted back to vegetarianism after years of battling with my inherent apathy/laziness. My Dad's side of the family would probably be classified as the least likely to be tolerant/understanding/supportive of this decision. Well, what does my stepmom send my dad out to Whole Foods (probably the first time he has set foot in such an establishment in his life) for? A fucking Tofurkey. Which she makes especially for me, and it was pretty good actually. This was possibly the single coolest gesture anybody in my family has ever made to me, and I was blown away. Even my mom's side of the family, the intellectual/artist side, basically accomodates me by making sure there are a couple extra vegetarian side dishes when I am coming to dinner, if even that, and my mom is a former veggie herself.
Im on vacation this week and I'm using my much needed time off to locate a new apartment on the north side, visit the fucking awesome museums in this city, see Life Aquatic and A Very Long Engagement, make out with cute girls, and heading back into the gym to continue working towards my life's goal of a set of washboard abs, the true American dream.
That's enough for now, so I leave you with this:
