So I had pretty much the most awesome day ever in a long time. It started off nice with my Video group deciding not to really do much. I'd decided to skip my second class only to find it was canceled. Awesome. So I came back home and talked to
BrightRedScream for a wile...
, that's all I can say. I had llike 6 blogs to read in a matter of minutes which was also awesome. Oh and when I went to pick up some food at the corner store, the proprietor (John) an awesome guy, told me my next energy drink would be on the house... So pretty much all good things today, but talking to
BrightRedScream is definitely the part that made my day so awesome.
Yesterday wasn't such a bad day either. I talked to
baby_squid for the first time in a week. Apparently her computer died
but she called me (or phoned if you're BRS
). We had a nice chat for about an hour that left me smiling all the way down to Rhode Island for training.
Training was also good. I made even more breakthroughs with my rolls which made me very happy. Also we had a guest in the dojo who just happened to be a third degree black belt. It was pretty awesome to see him train with my friend and listen to him talk with my sensei. My sensei is a 5th degree but the two of them had been to a lot of the same events over the years and it was really cool listening to them talk.

Also, my sensei went into some detail about his 5th degree test which is always mind-blowing to listen to. The 5th degree test is very simple. You kneel or sit on a mat with your back turned to everybody. Then soke (the grandmaster) stands behind you with a shinai (bamboo sword). Though a shinai is bamboo, it hurts like a bitch to get hit by it, and soke can hit much harder than most people. The whole of the test is that Soke brings the sword down on your head putting all of his killing intent into it. Keep in mind that he is the grandmaster. You cannot hear him swing, you cannot see him, you cannot smell him, you cannot feel the ground shift. All you can do is sense his intent, the sheer energy he puts out. All you have to do is roll out of the way before he hits you. Roll too soon, and you fail. Roll too late, you fail and get to wear a neck brace for a few weeks. It's mindblowing to hear sensei recount his test.
Ninjutsu rant over.
Also, getting drunk on Saturday was awesome. I had a lot of fun marathon-ing the Die Hards, laughing with the guys, and making a complete fool of myself in chat. I needed that to break me out of my rut. I can't think of much to say about it, but it was a very good time
Sorry for recounting the past few days in reverse-chronological order. This is how I've thought about it, so this is how I wrote it
Oh and big congratulations to Sphenoid13 on your succesful surgery. I hope you feel better soon babe
Oh and also KittyContagious you'd better be on Cam (today I guess) and good luck on your upcoming surgery
Besides, I'm out of the red zone, you got nothing to worry about. Now if you'll excuse me, King LEonidas and I are expecting the pizza guy any minute.
