Wow. Just got back from a show in Montreal tonight.
City And Colour opened for Dashboard Confessional. Both were amazing.
This was my second time seeing Dallas, and he had Casey Baker (of "Casey's Song" and Sleeper Set Sail fame) playing a second guitar at times and his cousin on the piano. It was pretty good stuff, though sometimes it seemed like Casey was just makin' noise. Dallas Green goddamn rules, and he played a new City And Colour song, that people on the net have been calling "My Sensible Heart".
Dashboard Confessional. Amazing sound. Sometimes you couldn't hear the violin or the third guitar (when it was acoustic), but for the most part, the sound was perfect. Chris sings a few songs without a guitar, and does all these hand motions I pretty much hate. But man does he hit all those notes! Definitely an awesome show. Played new songs and old ones, with some added parts and some violin (can you say "Ghost Of A Good Thing"?) and had a three-song encore. The last song was obviously "Hands Down". The band a has a way of knowing right when to keep a little quiet so that everyone can sing along. Pretty awesome to be part of all that.
Anyways, the power got cut today and I had to phone my parents to ask them how to turn the water pump back on. So I showered and ate a bit and it's not 4:30am. Sleeping sounds like a good idea right about now. Laters!

fluxuation:
that's awesome! I've never seen Dashboard (somehow...) but I hear he's good. Was there a lot of acoustic or did they throw in the whole band for most songs? I'd love to see a little acoustic show of his, but I guess he's a bit big for that now... oh well. I love Dallas, though.
