Thanks for all the hugs and cheer-ups from my last post. Now that I'm feeling better, I have to admit how silly it was: I was tearing up at "Lady and the Tramp"
I'm back at school full-time as of this week, after a couple very boring weeks of being stuck in my office (spring break and all). Not only that, but I went to...

Sorry I haven't been replying or commenting much. I've been keeping up with journals and threads and whatnot, I just haven't had much to say in the past few days (or the fortitude to write it all out, if I did).
So here's a quiz I stole from Yatsu because I love this stuff:
(ok, so it's actually 2 quizzes, but it all blends together)...

Ah, the enkai. That Japanese tradition of going out and getting plowed with your coworkers in honor of someone entering or leaving the company.
Last night we had one for two people leaving the Board of Education. There's a bit of ritual to it, people have specific places to sit depending on their importance (both within the company and the celebration), and people deliver speeches...

I think I would kill my credit card in japan...
She's the best thing about YOKAI and I was so happy when I saw her in KILL BILL, because I knew her before from BR and SHIKOKU. I was like "YAY!!!! That's Chiaki-chan!!!" and all my friends were like "erm.. who the hell? what are you talking about???"
I saw another new film with her yesterday SCRAPHEAVEN. It was rather good, but reminded me a lot of Fight Club.
Hope you had fun at that enkai thing.

NEW LEVEL OF AWESOMENESS: "Video Killed the Radio Star" in Japanese! (performed by Lolita No. 18)
I just got back from Osaka about an hour ago, after enduring a massively delayed train ride in a smoking car (the non-smoking car was full; that's the last time I let my host dad convince me to save money by not getting a reserved seat).

Yeah, if someone wants to chase me, I'll take it. I just don't have the energy for much more frustration. As for a tour in Japan, we've spoken about it many times. Just gotta work out the logistics.
I still can't escape. Today it was bright, sunny... and drizzling. Weirdest weather ever.
Tomorrow I leave for Osaka, my former host family invited me up for the weekend. Yay!

I cannot escape dripping water.
Ever since my gas went out a few weeks ago, the hot water spigot has been dripping. It seems to get worse each time I use it. That's pretty maddening.
Added to that is the thunderstorm going on right now, that I have to go back out in because I have to meet my friend for her weekly English lesson...

Well, I can be certain I won't be having any serious relationships for many moons. Far too much stress.
I was in Tokyo for a little over 5 months, when I was a sophomore in high school. It was pretty amazing. I've been back once since and in 6 years, it really had changed tremendously. I only spent a little time in the more rural areas but it was quite an experience.

As I try to sleep, my mind starts wandering from subject to subject, settling on seemingly random thoughts and events from my past. Things I haven't thought about in a while.
Tonight, I started thinking about a friend of mine from college. For our first two years we lived on the same floor in the same dorm. We hung out occasionally, usually with other friends...

That always happens to me in the morning....I wake up and even when still very tired, when I try to go back to sleep, I just start thinking about stuff and everything that has to be done during the day and I can never get back to sleep. Damn mind.

I... have an appreciation thread: S_Z no matsuri. Taureolt started it.
I'm so flattered! I never thought I would be on the radar for my own thread, this is such an awesome pick-me-up. Thanks!
And then, to cap it off, I got a package from my mom today. She loves sending me surprises and whatnot, so who am I to argue with free stuff?...

It seems like you definitely could use a car, you just would have to sell it when you go back home. Ise Shrine and Iga-Ueno does ring a bell, I envy you.
I'll post pics of my tattoo next time, it's still swollen right now.

Today was the graduation ceremony at my favorite school. This is particularly upsetting to me because I only teach up to junior high, so now that these kids are heading to high school, I won't see them anymore. I wasn't nearly as upset at the school yesterday because it's in my neighborhood and I'm sure I'll still see them around (like I do now), but...

You should try NANA, it's one of my favorites right now. The german translation is at tankoban number 7, but i think there is allready number 14 available in japan.

I was reading through my old handwritten journal at work today, the one I used while I was in Osaka 3 years ago. It's amazing, history really does repeat itself. A lot of the issues I had then, I've had again this time in Japan. And going back even further, since I started this journal around my freshman year of college, it looks like I'm...
