...and as everytime when I get back from a along trip it makes me sad to see, that nothing happend while I was gone, nothing changed, everybody carried on doing the same stuff day by day and noone seems to realize that there is a whole world out there with a million things to do and see and expirience.
I want to tell the people around me so much about what it is like in China and the Philippines, but eventhough people listen they don't seem to understand and care. It's always the same...
But anyways! The trip was awesome. China is just incredible. Especially Guangzhou. I have never seen anything like it before...they have everything there is in the western world, but everything looks a litlle (or big) bit different so that in total it's "information overkill". You can just walk through the streets and soak up everything you see for days without beeing bored. A wiered thing is that in China, or at least in Guangzhou, it's pure capitalism! Everything is so consume oriented and ruled by money. I think even worse then here. And that is really not what you expect when you go to Mao's Peoples Republic of China. The people I got to know closer were really cool and I realized, that inspite of all cultural differences they are just the same as me and my friends...watching the same movies, hanging around, going out at night, downloading music from the internet, thinking about sex all the time...we sung "Imagine" together in a Karaoke Bar...that was somehow moving.
The food sucked, I am a vegetarian and since I got lost in translation all the time I always ended up with chicken feet or giblets in my food. So I had to eat tons of Oreos.
One day I saw a dead guy lying on the street. He had just jumped out of a highrise window. Someone had covered his upper body, but the rest which was sticking out from under the blanket looked so bad. His shoes were lying some meters away. The next day there was still a big blood stain on the concret. That was so bad... but it was thee only bad expirience.
I got back home about two weeks ago and started an internship right the day after I got back...that was pretty exhausting.
I'll put some pictures from China here soon. For know you can check out some pics from the Philippines...I promise to write some more about China and alot about the Philippines soon, but know I need to sleep. Oh, and I'll post a pic of my knew haircut. Yeah, after 11 years with long hair I had to cut it off...it's so strange!
That's it for know...
