Awesome! When I saw the pic, before I even saw what you wrote, my first thought was "Mmm... biscotti".
groove:
I must be the only person who thinks biscotti are very overrated. Give me a chocolate chip cookie over biscotti anyday.

Thanks smile.
It actually turned into a prequel to a comic I'm writing. So it'll see print someday.
groove:
Well, congrats on the job... but I hope your photography takes off, and you have to quit the new job to do it full-time. smile

That is a great pic... smile

Yeah, that top one is super sick. Reminds me of some of Steve Prue's shots.

what the FUCK?! both sets i shot were rejected now...
go check 'em out, the girls put them up for 2nd chance sundays

Frost - Cornered

Menace - Mill Window

tell me what you think, and be honest, i need it!!
groove:
I don't think it's necessarily the photography (technical aspects) that are causing the sets to be rejected--both sets didn't have very well developed themes, and in both sets, the poses were a bit repetitious and dull. As far as technical aspects, I thought both sets were a lot better than some official sets I've seen... they were well lit and in focus! smile However, the lighting on Frost's set is a bit flat. The colors don't pop really well. The lighting is even, but it's not dynamic...

But hey, what do I know?

check out the set i shot that got rejected Menace - Mill Window
if you like it, feel free to say so in a comment
if not, let me personally know why so i know what to do differently for the next set i shoot!
groove:
Well, Menace has a fantastic body... but there were a couple of things I didn't quite like about the set. First, the "Mill Window" didn't do much for me... the view out the windows left a *lot* to be desired! Second, the poses were pretty repetitious--when you start to get bored looking a hot naked woman, there's a problem. smile Finally, what's with the flip-flops??!

It's not a bad set, it seems pretty well lit, and I like the silhouette shot. Just needs work on the posing and theme development.

damn. one set got rejected (sg member Laurenne)
but... i sent it in AFTER the other one, and they haven't gotten back to us (Frost and me) about the first one yet
so maybe that's good news on that one!!
gah that sucks. but you can't win 'em all i suppose.
it's all good and it's def. good practice!
meli:
Like you said, you can't win 'em all and keeping a good attitude about it is key!

I am one to talk tho. I never even shot my set because I was too afraid it was going to get regected. Boooooo.

Anyways, is the rejected set up somewhere? I would love to take a gander. miao!!
groove:
Fingers crossed on the Frost set!!!
And you're right, it is still good practice...

I just have a Nikon D50 - it's really strange like yesturday I thought I was all good and shit that they all came out well.

Then I started reading the photography group and really realized how much of photography now is photoshop.

Like how Sean gets his images to come out the way he does and whatever. ALL photoshop.

I sent that picture to a friend of mine who is a pro photographer, I didn't ask but he reworked it in photoshop and it looks SO nice.

I really need to learn how to use that.
