DAMN YOU NICHOLAS SPARKS!
(for writing books which get made into movies that wrench my heart!)
hmm let's see - the notebook, obviously one of the best love stories ever written
then message in a bottle, amazing movie - SADDEST ending to a movie ever! (other than city of angels)
and a walk to remember...hey i'm a chick, i'm allowed to love that shit!
i tried to get nate to watch the notebook with me tonight
in terms of movies, he is SUCH a guy. i can't stand it.
he doesn't even give my favorite movies the time of day.
he doesn't like a movie unless someone is slain or something gets blown up.
it's really rather sad, actually, he's missing out on so much.
he sat through most of it with me, which i was impressed with, but i could sense his disinterest.
he went to bed a half hour before the end ... !!! who does that?! seriously...
so now i'm totally in a movie mood...
i'm going to attempt a top ten, although this has always been an arduous task for me:
in no particular order:
1. garden state
2. the butterfly effect
3. the notebook
3. the family stone
4. love, actually
5. spanglish
6. pay it forward
7. life as a house
8. good will hunting
9. legends of the fall
10. pleasantville
gah, that was hard. i keep looking through my movies and wanting to add more, but i'll leave it at that.
what's your top ten?
