wow, what a day yesterday was.
my sister had her baby
so i wanted to make the 2 hour drive to see her and the new babe
i got out of work at 3:30 (usually it's 5:30)
got my car registered (it was 10 days past due, hehe)
then headed on my way
right about halfway there (seriously, i had 50 highway miles left)
what i thought was smoke started drawing out of my engine
it scared the shit out of me, obviously i pulled over immediately
by the time i actually stopped completely, i'm pretty sure she had shut herself off
and the smoke/steam was just BILLOWING from my car
i thought at first it was on fire and thought about grabbing my camera equipment and hopping out
but instead i grabbed my cell phone, got out, popped the hood, and called nate
not 2 minutes later a state trooper pulled up to help
he called AAA for me and waited there with me for an hour for a tow to come
the tow guy looked at it quickly and said there's no way it's getting fixed tonight
so i had to call nate and ask him to come get me, and he hadn't even gotten home from work yet
poor guy
but what a great guy
he came to get me, we got some food, and continued on to see the baby
didn't get there until probably 8:30, stayed for an hour, took some pics, then drove home
if it wasn't for the beautiful baby who came into the world yesterday
it would have been one of my most memorable worst days ever...
i don't feel like dealing with my camera right now for pictures, but i do have some
so i'll post them next time, when i am not in such a wretched mood
oh, by the way, it's going to be at least $800-$1000 to fix the fucker
NEVER BUY A VOLKSWAGEN... PLEASE TAKE THIS ADVICE!
