Oh jeez.
So I made a mad 18-hour dash home to be with momma and gain a little man-hating recovery time... (see last entry) I really couldn't have had WORSE timing. I got here around 7:30pm and mom and I spoke for 2 hours and ate and went to bed... The next day mom had work to do so I read and hung out by the pool all day. (I know, tough life.) Her boyfriend, Joe, came over for dinner. It was the craziest role-reversal gig I've ever experienced. I felt like the mom approving of my daughter's new squeeze. The best part came when I said goodnight... my mom was like "uh, you'll probably see him in the morning". Awkward.
The next day my me, my mom, and my mom's friend Amy went to the mall to shop for shirts for me. Um-yea, exactly what someone who feels like crap about their present image needs-a day trying on clothes. I'm not going to act ungrateful-we really went there to exchange mom's something-or-other and it turned into the crusade for a decent night-out shirt for me. I appreciate this very much and was glad to spend time with mom, however awkward Amy's presence may have felt... So I didn't realize my mom was taking me out so she could bring me on a "double date" with her boyfriend and his son. YUCK. CREEPY MUCH?
OK kids for those of you new to my family-last time I was home (in March) my mom and dad were still married and sharing a bed. Dad's out of town this week, but he's still living with my mom and sleeping in the guest house. Apparently I walked in on love-bird nesting time because Pop's out of town. Whoops. Awkward. PS... I didn't even know mom HAD a boyfriend until my 10th hour in the car, when she announced on a voicemail; "I probably ought to tell you I have a boyfriend. He's really sweet and you'll love his dog." My reaction was "Okay.. not seeing why that matters.' Oh, little did I know.
So we go on this "double date" and her boyfriend (who is actually a sweetie) buys dinner and drinks and I am stuck sitting at the bar nestled between my mom and her boyfriend's kid, Bryan. At first, I was having fun because he seemed to be really appreciative of my personality and what I had to say. Apparently that was a giant facade, because the poor schmuck spent the rest of the evening "softening me up" for what would come later. After dinner Joe and Bryan were invited to our house to hang out. They got there and we all enjoyed some after dinner drinks...yadda yadda... then the parents decide it's bedtime and head to bed. So I am stuck with schmuck and it's late....
Gunna have to write more later-Joe just showed up with dinner. Pork tamale casserole. How considerate of him. (I don't eat meat-a common topic of convo for the last three days, but who really gives a crap... obviously Joe doesn't)

Right now your profile is doing something odd with the SG update code - it looks as if you're updating it once per minute for the last 24 hours which means it's spamming the entire update feed. I'm going to take you off my friends list briefly to see if it fixes it for me - nothing personal of course!
Good luck with everything xo
