Oh man am I relieved. I went to my first Texas A & M classes today... (class, rather) Whew is this a far cry from Harvard kids... THANK GOD! My major is Animal Science, so I have been looking forward to the class Animal Science 107 & 108 since I declared my major... I went today and met my awesomely cool professor. He's amazing. We have really cool rules in the class. Those kids with perfect attendence get an "optional" final... meaning we dont have to take it. YES...! We also get 2 points added to our final grade (meaning 88 turns into a 90, duh...) if we do 10 extra credit assignments by Thanksgiving. This made me nervous until I found out what they were. I basically have to go work with sheep, goats, horses, or cattle 10 times and write about something I learned in the process in one paragraph and turn it in. WHOA... How easy, right? I mean... this coming from the girl who would have rather cleaned a stall than her own room a few years ago. I'm so excited I can't stand it! My prof was like, "Alright, you see on this overhead that the text is marked as 'optional' and by 'optional' I mean REAL optional. As in, if you wanna spend 100 bucks on a book with purdy pictures in it, then go right ahead. Or you could pay me the 100 bucks and I'll make a book for ya myself!" Basically he rocks. This class is going to kick serious butt... *YES* **** dances ****
Today was SUPPOSED to suck, because immediately following my Animal Science class (which ends at 11:10) I had to bike with my 40lb backpack ALLLLLL the way across the freaking campus. (for those of you who don't know A & M has 45,000 students, it's a large place...) My Chem lab was scheduled from 11:30 to 2:30 (le suck...) so I biked all the way over there only to walk up four flights of non-airconditioned staircases... and see a sign in the window... "No Chem labs until Sept 1" FABULOUS. I was sweaty and hot and gross and tired, so I was relieved to know that I could come back here and take a freaking nap, maybe eat some lunch... which I've decided to blow off so I could rave about my awesome major.. and how cool I am :-) Hope everyone else is having a blast with their classes too!!!! <33333

It's always a good sign when the first day of classes goes well.
I started off with a biology major, so I'm all about the chemistry lab, and the crazy hippy profs.
But, hopefully all your other classes turn out as great!
