Woohoo! Nice week so far, won't ruin it with self-pitying bullshit...
Went to the end-of-year exhibition a to my old uni yesterday. Lots of fantastic work up, and great to see some old friends. It really seems like yesterday when it was me with my work on the wall...
Was VERY happy with the complimentary comments I got from people regarding my newfound emaciation (exaggeration). No propositions or invitations to dance in the moonlight with mysterious women yet, but time will tell
Saw Sin City on Saturday, was SO impressed... shame it was a shitty little dive of a cinema, but kind of fitting to the mood of the piece. Would've been even more fitting in a joint to give a run-down cesspit delusions of splendour and adequacy, where even the crack addicts and whores are valued as butts on seats, and only opening doors because everybody's gotta have some place to hide... erm, excuse my digression.
Purchased good albums from White Stripes (yes, I still like them) and Ministry and was lent some great albums by Arcade Fire and Willy Mason. I heartily recommend Willy, and have put his album to the top of my list of CDs to buy. Arcade Fire kinda remind me of Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips and other stuff I like
Oh, and i've been reviewing some previously underappreciated albums from the Pixies (ok, underappreciated by me). Trompe Le Monde and Bossanova always took kind of second place to the stunning Doolittle, C'mon Pilgrim and Surfer Rosa, but i'm learning to love them much more now. Head On is fantastic.
Had to miss a night out tonight- damn, getting old- as i'm too bleedin' tired. Tomorrow a guy I work with is ahving a leaving do, and my friends are having a "house-cooling" to celebrate leaving uni. Both potentially melancholic occasions, so i'll have to get riotously drunk to avoid noticing. If it weren't for the alcoholics I work with, i'd feel like I were drinking too much. Guess everyone has someone to look down on...

Goodness, there were people sleeping everywhere at the party I went to on Saturday. As it was in a field inhabited by cows most of the time it wasn't the best idea
