why are so many people associated with medical professions such arrogant pricks?
yesterday, i had an appointment at the lab to get some tests done at 4pm. when i was given that appointment, i said i probably wouldn't be able to make it due to work. i was told to just call and reschedule closer to my appointment date. (*note: i had to schedule this appointment a month in advance as it is).
so, i call the lab and say, 'hey, i can't make this appointment, just like i said i couldn't when the appointment was given to me in the first place.' 'oh, well, we can fit you in 4 weeks from now at 4pm.' so i say that doesn't work for me either, can i have some other options so i can schedule it arround work? 'oh, we're open the exact same hours you work. that's the only appointment there is, and if you can't get time off work, that's your problem.'
it's at this point i tell she's making a stupid assumption because i don't have to be at work until 1pm. 'oh, you don't work until 1? well...' and she proceeds to give me a list of FIVE morning appointments too choose from as much as a week SOONER than the one she told me was the only appointment there was.
i'm glad this was all done over the phone, because i was seriously sleep deprived that day, and had this conversation happened in person, i would have probably reached over the counter and smacked her around a bit.
