"Lawrence of Arabia" had really great cinematography but I'm not so sure I liked Peter O'Toole as Lawrence. He seems a little... well... too gay for the part. Don't get me wrong, gays are awesome. I support gay rights, believe those of us who are gay should be allowed to get married and am appalled by crimes against gays based solely on their gayness. But if I were a desert-dwelling arabian tribesman, I'm not so sure that a skinny, pale, blonde-haired, blue-eyed, overly-effeminate, fashionably-attired Fairy flamboyantly waiving his arms about and saying - with an English accent only someone named "Fagen" would have - "Attack, attack!" would inspire me to gallop into battle on my trusty camel. Call me a macho homophobe, but I think I'd throw a, "Whoa man, that was totally gay," look toward my Sharif and wait for him to begrudgingly tell me to follow the English bitch-master, pouncing excitedly towards the Turkish derailment yonder.
Seriously though, perhaps Lawrence was kind of effeminate and overly dramatic and that's why O'Toole was cast. Knowing nothing of this "Lawrence" fellow, I must defer to the historical accuracy of the filmmakers.
Well, I have been busy these last two weeks, looking for a job, finishing part of the basement to set up my studio and totally unpacking - finally finishing the move I had set out to do three month ago!
CDBaby.com will be working to get my music on iTunes, as well as a few other cheesy iTunes-wanna-be services. I'm quite looking forward to it.
Dan befriended a guy who plays drums for Cher while attending an Ellis Drum Shop Workshop that he was hosting. Apparently the guy is totally cool. I think he said his name was Mark Schulman. Dan pointed out he was in S by S and gave him our website address. He stopped by and downloaded some of the songs and says he loves our music! He wants to hear some of us together and mentioned something about talking to some people he knows at Capitol Records.
Dan was pretty excited about it. I was really excited the first time someone from a major label took interest in me, too. It's one of those things that, if you're any good, will happen from time to time. Often, nothing comes out of it. But you must take advantage of those opportunities when they are presented. So, we will now be recording in my basement studio. I can't wait to record Dan & George.
But, by far, the coolest news for me was getting a job with the Minnesota School of Business / Globe College of Business. I shall be teaching Music Economics and Digital Audio / MIDI introductory courses. Then it will morph into a technical position where, hopefully, I can become the head technical guy for the Macintosh computers in all four campuses! I'm quite excited but most of all grateful to Jack Robinson for basically getting me this job. Jack's one of the partners who owns the Institute of Production & Recording. He's also a trusted colleague and former instructor from my college years. He is way too busy to read this self-saturated blog bullshit but, nevertheless, THANK YOU JACK!!!!

Wow, that's really cool. I love Cordoba. It's so beautiful. I'm from Rosario, about 4 hrs. North of Buenos Aires. It's the 2nd largest city there, but Cordoba blows my mind. Anyway, I hope you are having a good day off as well. I'm off to Venice beach! Ciao.....
