This is a picture of my esteemed teacher and dear friend, Bethyla. She died this morning at 4:40am, after suffering from lymphoma and other ailments for quite sometime. Bethyla and I really saw eye to eye, and we laughed, and I really felt that she understood me, which is rare. I also learned so much about yoga, and healing, and self-realization from her.
I loved her, and continue to love her.
Its kind of sad.
Today is also the 194th anniversary of the premier of Beethoven's 7th symphony. coincidentally, it is a funeral march. The Philadelphia orchestra has a tradition, that whenever they hear of a past member dying, they play the 7th in their rehearsal. I tried to find a link of Philadelphia playing it, but i couldn't, so here is a version by columbia university. If you feel like listening to it in solidarity, today, whilest you click around in silliness, I suppose I'd feel supported.
Although this is sad, life is good, and full of love and joy. We went on date last night to olde city, and watched darjeeling limited at the ritz, and had a drink at a hipster bar, and then a really nice dinner, and laughed and made a scene the entire time, and hopefully taught the squares how to have a good time.
