Something got jacked up in my typewriter when I changed ribbons. It made me mad that I spent so much money repairing it. Then I remembered, I got a two year warranty! King me!
Unfortunately that means I have to drag ass into the West Village on my day off with my heavy-ass typewriter case, but oh well.
This month is National Poetry Writing Month, or NaPoWriMo, in which poets pledge themselves to write a poem a day, every day, for the entirety of the month. I've been doing it for two years, and I think I'm giving 2008 a pass. I'm writing plenty without NaPoWriMo's help this year. And besides, I'm still in with the editors of my book, which was created from poems I wrote last April.
I will pledge this, though. I will read a poem every day this month. And, if any of you folks feel inspired to write a poem a day, please send them to me and I shall read them as well. On my honor.
I'm watching Amarcord, or "I Remember," by Mr. Fellini right now, in my other pledge to watch all the Criterion movies in order. Even Armageddon. This one is very very good. I've always been interested in the unique alchemy of happiness and sadness in Italian movies, really bad things always tend to happen, but the next moment, everybody's running around like a goof. It must be the constant work breaks to drink and eat that make them this way.
