Sunday night... I need to get to bed soon. Have an early day tomorrow with a bunch of errands. I need to find some way to get laundry and grocery shopping in there, too. My new housemate sayed he'll do the cooking if we pitch in on food, which is awesome. I rarely ever eat at home, so usually the only things I have are ramen noodles or Hot Pockets to eat after 2 a.m. when I come stumbling in drunk.
Drove way the fuck out to Ventura today to shoot a comedy short called The Amazing Kristopher with the guys at Blue Ribbon Panel. I'd forgotten all that goes into a film shoot. I had a small role with very little dialogue, but all the takes we had to do... I was surprised. The A.D. was like, "Workin' a bit harder than you thought, eh?" I didn't know what A.D. stood for until today. I asked him, "Excuse me! Who are you and why do you get to shout orders to everyone?" He says, "I'm the A.D." I'm like, "And what is that?" Then I asked him what the "gate" is, since I always hear that on film sets, "Check the gate!" Huh??? He was confused by my question at first, too, since everything was on DV today.
I'm glad I got to be part of the filming. BRP does some really funny stuff and this is no exception. I really can't wait to see it... how it'll all get pieced together. Plus, I'm a little curious to see myself on screen. I used to never watch myself on film. I'd cringe and cover my eyes or leave the room.
Oh! Check this! David Faustino - the guy who played Bud Bundy - was in the film, too. It was really nice to meet him. When I was a kid I totally had posters of him on my bedroom walls ripped from the pages of teeny bopper magazines. I rethunk telling him about that, though. He's super nice and very funny. We chatted a bit about Dollywood, playing and writing comedy and tapatio vs tabasco sauce.
Mmmm... last night I went out to meet up with the boy I've been smitten with at some club a bit down the street from me. It was one of those trendy, guest-listy places. The type I normally avoid like a plague. I hate having to know someone or bribe someone or having to dress scandalous just to get in the door. They were already inside so I ended up having to wait around 15 minutes. I was almost ready to call it quits and just go back home.. patience is not my forte. But, I dig this guy and wanted to hang out with him before he leaves.
I had a fun time. They played a lot of hip hop -- and I'm not on top of any current pop music of any type, so I wasn't familiar with a lot of the songs. But the Grey Goose was flowing mad.... Towards the end of the night the D.J. did this thing where he'd call girls up on stage and have 'em stand against the wall with a spotlight on 'em and they would shake their ass. It got kinda wild. I heard there was a nine girl orgy happening somewhere in the room.
Anyway, I enjoyed finally getting to spend time with him before heads off to NY. Such a shame. I thought we got on so well.
Okay, tomorrow night. Chuck Palaniuk! YES! Holy fuck, I still need to go pick up my copy of Haunted. Dammit, there's another errand. Then after his signing... heheh. Metal Skool!!!

Oh, bit parts are so fun! Let me know when the movie comes out, I'd love to see it. Ventura rocks - my mom lives right near there in Ojai.
